Personalizing Hospitality: Ocean Spring Resort Chengdu MGallery’s Experience with OPERA for China
Oracle's latest cloud-based property management system is making a big splash in the hospitality industry in China, with more hotels starting to use it every day. We were extremely pleased to have the opportunity to interview Mr. Jack Guo, the General Manager of Ocean Spring Resort Chengdu MGallery, who is also one of the very first ACCOR Group customers to adopt this new system, about his experience with OPERA for China and how it’s changing how his hotel operates.
Real-World Benefits of OPERA for China
During our conversation, Mr. Guo shared many of the benefits that OPERA for China offers. He said:
“After we deployed this system, we found that it has saved us a significant amount of cost. While we all want something new and innovative, the key question is whether it can improve our customer satisfaction and work efficiency while also lowering our operating costs.”
This highlights how OPERA not only upgrades technology but also meets the real needs of hotels today.
Multilingual Flexibility and Future-Focused Innovation
Mr. Guo also complimented OPERA’s cloud version for its powerful features, which allow staff to easily switch between languages like Chinese, English, and French. This flexibility helps hotels cater to a variety of guests. He added:
“I have already shared this with other professionals. As we enter a new era of hotel management, these cloud-based systems show us the way forward for future operations. Advanced technology can support us, and many hotel professionals are eager for this kind of innovation.”
Solving Operational Challenges with Mobile Functionality
He openly discussed the challenges his hotel faced over the past year, including system problems that disrupted operations and affected guest experiences. However, since implementing OPERA for China, these issues have greatly improved. He mentioned:
“Now, we can use the mobile version of OPERA for China, which is very convenient. For instance, in our villas, guests can drive right up to their front door, eliminating the need for traditional check-in at the front desk.”
Strong Partnership for Seamless Implementation
Mr. Guo also expressed his appreciation for our collaboration, saying:
“HRS Hospitality & Retail Systems is well-known as a leading IT supplier in this industry. They helped us meet our goals for this new cloud-based management system and provided excellent support during the entire migration process.”
This strong partnership has played a key role in making the transition smooth and improving operations.
