HRS Joined a Strategic MOU for Digital Transformation in Korea
HRS Joined a Three-Way Strategic MOU to Drive Digital Transformation for Independent Hotels in Korea
Hospitality & Retail Systems (HRS), a global IT solutions provider and the world's largest official Oracle Hospitality partner, entered into a landmark three-way Memorandum of Understanding with tripla Co., Ltd. (JPX: 51360) and RoomingHub. Formalized under the title 'Strategic MOU for the Development of the Korean Hotel Industry,' the agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Seoul Myeongdong, bringing together CEOs and key representatives from each organization.
The partnership was specifically designed to address the digital transformation gap facing Korea's independent and local hotel chains — properties that had historically lacked access to the enterprise-grade technology infrastructure available to large global brands. By uniting three of the region's leading hospitality technology providers, the MOU created a connected ecosystem empowering independent hotels to operate with the same sophistication and efficiency as their global counterparts.

A connected ecosystem built for independence
Under the MOU, HRS provided its industry-leading Opera Cloud PMS as the operational backbone of an integrated solution stack, working in concert with tripla's direct booking engine and CRM platform, and RoomingHub's TL Lincoln channel manager. Together, the three solutions were designed to give hotels the freedom to build a technology environment that fit their unique needs without being tied to a single vendor or bearing the cost of a large-scale implementation.
Key areas of cooperation include:
-
Building a ‘Customized Solution Ecosystem’ for Local and Independent Hotels: The three companies will support active technical integration so that hotels can mix and match leading solutions according to their needs, such as tripla’s Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) booking engine to increase direct bookings and reduce OTA commissions, RoomingHub’s TL Lincoln channel manager, and HRS’s Opera PMS. This allows hotels to easily integrate their preferred solutions and independently configure structures for revenue and efficiency.
- Supporting Direct Revenue Growth and Operational Efficiency: By utilizing tripla’s booking engine and CRM to increase the share of official website bookings and automating room inventory management and workflows through the seamless integration of RoomingHub’s TL Lincoln and HRS’s Opera Cloud PMS, the partnership aims to reduce the operational burden on independent hotels facing labor shortages while enabling data-driven revenue management.
- Economic Support Policies to Lower Entry Barriers: For new hotels or those considering system replacements, the three companies will offer discounted rates upon mutual recommendation to facilitate easier decision-making. The policy aims to minimize initial costs for high-performance solutions. Notably, as the global trend shifts from expensive on-premise Opera PMS to cloud-based versions, hotels can now access the global standard Opera Cloud PMS at significantly lower costs.

"By flexibly supplying global standard systems, including the world-class Opera Cloud PMS, to the Korean local market, we will enhance the self-sustainability of the domestic hotel industry and elevate its digital standards,"
said Steven Lee, Managing Director, APAC, HRS
A commitment to the Korean market
This MOU reflected HRS's broader mission to make enterprise-grade hospitality technology accessible at every level of the market. By combining its global expertise and Oracle Hospitality partnership with the local market knowledge of tripla and RoomingHub, we helped ensure that Korea's independent hotels were equipped to compete on equal terms — driving revenue, and building the operational resilience needed for long-term growth.
